The Russian and Eurasian Studies at USC is an interdisciplinary program bringing together faculty, students, and members of the community who have an interest in the region extending from Central Europe, through Russia and the Caucasus, to Central and Northern Asia. Incorporated within the Richard L. Walker Institute of International and Area Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences, the program sponsors a series of lectures by visiting speakers, research presentations by USC faculty and graduate students, and an undergraduate minor.

Faculty affiliates come from more than a dozen USC departments and schools across the university. Their fields span Russian politics, history, geography, literature, and culture.

The RES Program's Caucasus and Caspian Basin Initiative takes advantage of local expertise on Georgia, Armenia, and the Caspian Basin (Iran, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, south Russia, and Azerbaijan) to offer lectures and roundtable discussions on the culture and politics of that region. Faculty and students with a research interest in this region are encouraged to apply for travel and research grants available from the Walker Institute of International and Area Studies.
